Her family was the owners of the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery established in 1847, in Erie Pennsylvania where her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. served as President and CEO from 1847 until the brewery's closure in 1978. Jacobs was a regular at the Pittsburgh Playhouse on Saturdays to take acting classes. At the age of 8 she began her acting studies. Mt. Jacobs went to Lebanon High School between 2000 and the year 2004. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in the year 2004.
